House

We purchased the house in a state of semi-abandonment in 2016 and renovated it for almost 2 years to bring it back to its original beauty and to infuse new life into it. It is now a 6 bedroom villa with all modern comforts and an intriguing design yet with the restored patina of an old mansion which makes the home feel at once inviting, comfortable, elegant and true to its southern italian roots. Most rooms have stone vaulted ceilings typical of the area and terazzo or crushed concrete floors. The exterior is an example of early 1800’s neocalssical architecture complete with wonderful stonework, grand proportions and unique details. The villa was built by a noble or merchant family from nearby Lecce on the site of an older 17th century chapel, which is still standing today and that we fully restored, to celebrate and enjoy the gentle breezes and amazing views of the valley below in the hot summer months, away from the city.
